School's History

Opportunity Middle College is a dual credit, collaborative partnership between Fayette County Public Schools and Bluegrass Community & Technical College. Our student body consists of more than 100 high school juniors and seniors, and we accept students from the six A1 high schools and all programs in the FCPS district. 

Since OMC launched in 2009, our students have earned thousands of college credit hours and, with the support, guidance, and assistance from the OMC and BCTC staff, have demonstrated the ability to excel at the college level.

Did you know?

OMC was initially housed on the Leestown Road campus and then the Cooper Drive campus of BCTC. In summer 2021, the program moved to the Newtown campus.
